I am teaching a class of 18 seniors through Lifelong Learning Institute.  There is a lot of learning, effort and fun!  Here is my biography:

Peggy Applied studied art with renowned artists, Geza de Vegh, Fritz Cleary and Grace Graupe-Pillard.  She has been painting since 1965 and uses oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and pen and ink.  Her subject matter includes landscape, seascape, still life, and portraits.  She also sculpts, using clay.  Peggy enjoys Plein Air painting, which is done on location.  She is fascinated with the bright colors and strong contrast between light and dark in nature and expresses this in her work.

Peggy has exhibited in one-person and group shows in NJ, SC, GA, FL, and TX and has been represented by galleries, including the Anderson Art Museum and Tallulah Falls Gallery, as well as the Hartwell Fine Arts Center, which she owned and operated for about 15 years.  She has paintings in private and public collections and has won many prizes in juried shows.

Peggy earned an Associate in Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Monmouth University and a Masters degree from the University of Georgia.  She taught children and adults of all ages in her own gallery as well as museums in NJ, SC,  GA, and Florida.  She also taught in the pubic school systems in those states and also worked as a preschool administrator.

Her private accomplishments include four lovely children and four wonderful grandchildren.unknown.jpg
